Incomplete Requirements Published by Ryan Boucher @ 11:55 pm

A friend got engaged last week and was telling me the trials and tribulations of poorly defined requirements. Apparently when one gets engaged the ring should be worth about one months pay. I am not sure where that rule came from. I remember when I got engaged about eight years or so (I can’t really remember) I was earning about a pittance a month so I think I was on par when I gave her a Cheezel.

Anyway he was complaining that the one month pay rule never clarified whether it was before or after tax, should it include agent’s fees, deductions for vehicles, etc.

He took a punt on take home pay and that was sufficient. Congratulations!

Note: I didn’t really offer her a Cheezel

2nd Note: I can’t remember when I got engaged because it no longer matters.
