This is a repost from my Flickr post so that it could be seen on a darker background. There isn’t enough contrast in the clock lights for my liking.

Some idiots drove around throwing vegetables at cars. I got a broken mirror,
a friend got a broken rear window.

I took me yonks to get this shot and it’s still slightly out of focus.
Still, I’m happy with it.
I suspect this won’t be the last you see of the wagon wheel as it lives on
the front wall of the house.

I’ve still got to get the hang of manual focus in macro mode. Auto focus
doesn’t seem to get what I want… but I shouldn’t be picky as I’m not doing
much better. If I had not left my remote a friends it may have been easier.
This was the only shot I kept from the fifty odd I took today.

That was the title of probably the greatest literary piece I have produced
to this date. Year 9 English has no idea what was coming.
I bought a gorillapod today. I plan to use it for partays by strapping my
camera up high, flicking it all to auto and then leaving the remote in easy
reach of whoever wants to take a snap as they walk past. As the tasty
beverages flow I hope to get ever increasing candid photos but without the
mucking about and sticking a lens into someone’s face.

Today the postman gaveth me a new 70-300mm lens and two bottles of Tasty
McWhisky. The tripod was a god send because the flash kept on reflecting off
the bottles making them hard to read. I don’t have any light diffusion
devices so I had to do long exposures just to get the light moderately
acceptable.
It also seems that the auto focus has picked a random spot in my hair as the
critical bit to get in focus. Probably for the best.

This whisky is older than me! On a side note it would seem that MacPhail is
the most unfortunate of Scottish names since teh deliberate phonetic
spelling of words become kewl and teh failboat made port. Epich MacPhail
ftw!
